What To Do If You Have A Complaint About A Police Officer
We take any matter regarding our personnel seriously. If you feel at any time that a member of this department has acted in a manner that you feel is improper, you are encouraged to bring the matter to the attention of any supervisor on duty by calling 201-652-1700 who will be able to assist you in resolving your complaint.
The complaint will be investigated by the Internal Affairs or it will be forwarded to the appropriate Supervisor for investigation.
All complaints of officer misconduct shall be accepted from any persons who wish to file a complaint regardless of the hour or day of the week. This includes reports from anonymous sources, juveniles, and persons under arrest or in custody. In the event you wish to file a complaint with the Internal Affairs, we encourage you to do so as soon possible.
If you feel that your complaint warrants additional attention, you are encouraged to bring the matter directly to our Professional Standards Bureau at 201-652-1700 ext. 118 or by e-mail: [email protected]
You may also file a written complaint at any time at Ho-Ho-Kus Police Headquarters by speaking with the Desk Officer on duty.
